Suzette Soviero, Volunteer Manager Friends of North Bay Regional Center
Suzette Soviero graduated from the University of Arizona where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Child Development, teaching swimming to autistic children.
Through Ventura Junior College she taught adult education classes to autistic residents of Camarillo State Hospital.
While a student at the University of California, Los Angeles and under the supervision of Ivar Lovaas, Ph.D., Suzette worked as a behavioral therapist in Quito, Ecuador. She was the foster parent of an autistic girl for 8 years, from ages 8 to 16.
Suzette was part of the organizational team and founding staff of the Jay Nolan Center, in Southern California.
The North Bay Regional Center, serving the developmentally disabled community, has been Suzette's professional home for the last 27 years.
