MATT BLOOM

Matt graduated from the University of California at Riverside in 1974 with a double major in history and economics. In that same year Matt won the NCAA Individual Golf Championship – Two-time All-American.

Matt’s son Jackson was born in Boulder Colorado on January 21st, 1986.  Matt and his family moved to Sonoma County in May of 1987 and began what is now 27 years with Clover Stornetta Farms. Jackson was diagnosed with a pervasive developmental disability as well as having an Autism Spectrum Disorder in March, 1988. In 1991, Matt began 15 years as a single parent of Jackson.

Matt soon became acquainted with the Regional Center system and the developmental disability community.  In 2006 Matt and another family began "Special Needs Santa Rosa", a Supported Living environment designed to take care of the needs of two young men, one of which is his son Jackson. Matt has learned a great deal from this experience and desires to share his learning experiences with other families.

Matt is a founding member of the Board of Directors of “Friends of North Bay Regional Center” a community benefit organization, as well as a Board member of Special Needs Santa Rosa. Matt is a member of the Advisory Committee on fundraising for the California Independent Grocers Association.  Matt represented Sonoma County as an NBRC Board of Director from 2007 to 2011.
